Coach Hammond is the 8th grade Science teacher at Germantown Middle School. Coach Hammond began teaching in 2009 at Memphis Academy of Health Sciences. He has taught high school physical science, as well as 7th grade science. Coach Hammond is highly qualified to teach science from K-12. Coach Hammond has been rated a level 5 teacher every year he has been eligible. Coach Hammond also is an experienced coach as well. He has coached football, basketball, and softball. Coach Hammond won the MIAA city championship in football with MAHS in 2009. He also won the MIAA city championship for softball in 2012 and the SCIAA county championship for softball in 2014, both with MAHS. He will be coaching softball at Germantown Middle.
Coach Hammond is originally from Senatobia, Mississippi, and graduated with honors from Senatobia Jr/Sr. High School. Coach Hammond is a member of the Senatobia High School Hall of Fame. Coach Hammond was a standout student-athlete and received a full scholarship to play football at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA. There, Coach Hammond received his bachelor's degree in Biology in 2005. Coach Hammond completed his TEP program at Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tennessee. There, he graduated in 2014 with his Master's of Arts in Teaching.
Now, Coach Hammond lives in Cordova with his wife Kristy, who is also an educator with Shelby County Schools at White Station Middle. They have no children and are die hard Dallas Cowboys fans.
